A reception Venue Diary....

Like the diary of a madwoman, my diary of recpetion venues may play out somewhat similar.

But let's try to get this sorted... take a look...

Suggestion thrown out by my lovely WC:

CENTENNIEL HERITAGE MUSEUM

Santa Ana, CA

Santa Fe Springs, CA

Seats 300 outside; Check out MRS. LIME's Pictures from her wedding!

MALIBU WEST BEACH CLUBHOUSE
Malibu, CA
outdoor deck and view from reception area overlooking beach. Safe for March since the reception is technically indoors. Only problem is that it seats a maximum of 150 indoors and 180 if you use the patio as well... :(

RANCHO SOL DEL PACIFICO

Malibu, CA

Absolutely breathtaking. Can accommodate 200 in courtyard or 400 in the lower court. We have to rent Executive model port o potties (luxury style). We can play music til midnight, but it has to be lowered at 10:30pm. It's breathtaking but expensive... 2008 prices start at 7k for 100 people and then goes up $500 per 50 persons (this does not include the executive bathroom rental fee). I LOVE THIS ONE!

Malibu, CA

Accommodates 250, but only available May through October

LOS ANGELES RIVER CENTER & GARDENS
Los Angeles, CA

This is definitely doable. LA is central to many things and it can accommodate 250 people. The 2008 price is $5500 for Saturday evening!

CRAVENS ESTATE
Pasadena, CA

Pasadena, CA (Seats up to 250 outdoors/100 indoors): It is beautiful and MLL's friend had her wedding there. Lucky for me, TJK was willing to share some pros/cons to see if this site would be suitable for us. The one downside - must be done by 9:30pm :( But if you saw the pics from TJK's wedding, it was so elegant and beautiful. She claims she did it on a budget but part of me doesn't believe her b/c you wouldn't be able to tell from the detail and decor of her wedding. It was THAT beautiful!

SALT CREEK BEACH

Dana Point, CARight on the water, can pitch a tent for a March Wedding and I hear its fabulous. (Thanks Poe for a great idea)

RED HORSE BARN

Huntington Beach, CA (Can accommodate size of party); decently priced but need to rent an executive port o potty. The venue location is ok, even if the venue is really nice

  • Look into ...
Palos Verdes, CA Has to be done by dusk :(

West Hollywood, CA

Los Angeles, CA

This one is nice but dancing only in the living room?

Norwalk, CA

  • Eh, but interesting

San Gabriel, CA

EDEN EQUESTRIAN CENTER

Chino, CA

  • I wish I could afford or I would rather die before I do

Los Angeles, CA
Renovated church. Way out of my budget but SO BEAUTIFUL!

SADDLEROCK RANCH

Malibu, CA

Allows outside vendors. 10k to rent for the day
