So after a week of dreading the holidays, I used cooking and baking as a way to open my mind and heart to the holiday fun! And it worked (for now)... and aside from really achy legs and feet from standing all day, we had a blast!
See slideshows and fun
To start off, some pics of the gorgeous pups :)
And onto the baking!!!
Here's the recipe we used for sugar cookies! It was simple, but i think there are definitely some other ones that can make the cookies even tastier... Borrowed from here!
* 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 cup butter, softened
* 1 1/2 cups white sugar
* 1 egg
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased cookie sheets.
3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks
Check out all the designs... it was difficult to grasp, but we started to get the hang of it, and had a blast... FH enjoyed mocking, laughing, pointing and making fun of us too :)
Notice there was our gingerbread men in man-kini's? lol... and we used the Bells to incorporate into our design :)
**Sunday I awoke to the smells of bacon. when I got up to go to the restroom, FH saw me and scolded me... "go back to bed" and I was said "why? what are you doing?" only half awake and FH responded... "I'm trying to surprise you with breakfast in bed!!!" How sweet of him to cook me breakfast in bed... I'm such a lucky gal!**

What's the update on wedding plans by the way?
I'm driving to D.C. and stealing your gorgeous dogs! ;) Ok, ok, I will stick to living vicariously through your pictures.
