Breast Cancer Walk!

I wanted to share this with you b/c not only do i think the cause is great, but i absolutely adore my friend who is walking for the cure! I met Jess while i was in law school through her now husband, Adam who was my classmate. Instantly i liked her... and to this day, still keep up with her via her blog and occasional emails. She's one of those true sunshine personalities... and it shows. Her son just has the most contagious smile and is so happy - and you know where he gets it from.

Below are snippets from an email she sent out... I want to encourage you all to donate. Whether its $5bucks or even slightly more, i know times are tough... but one less trip to Starbucks won't kill us, and that could make a huge difference. If the people who follow my blog all donated $5 bucks... well that'd be (86X5) 430 bucks. THATS HUGE! Every tiny itty bitty bit helps... so don't think your dollar or 5 dollars won't make a difference!

Hello Everyone!

I hope this finds you happy and healthy in the new year.

I am writing to let you know that I signed up for the 2009 Breast Cancer 3-Day! It's a 60-mile walk over the course of three days that raises funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.

As most of you know, my mother battled breast cancer for 19 years before finally succumbing to the disease in Nov 2004. Losing her was one of the most profound events in my life and I don't think I will ever be the same. I miss her more than I could ever have imagined. For those of you that didn't know me when my mom was alive... she truly was my best friend.

One reason I signed up for the Breast Cancer 3Day is because I want to find a cure for this disease. I really believe it's within our reach and I want to do anything I can to make it happen. This event isn't easy, but I promise you, I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't believe 100% that it was worth every muscle ache, weary night and training walk!

I need your help though. Please consider making a donation to support my fundraising efforts. There are a couple different options... one time payment, monthly installments, ect. Also, many companies have matching gifts programs, so please ask your employer if they will double your donation with a matching gift! Just follow the link below to visit my personal fundraising page and make a donation.

Also, you can follow my journey to the 3Day by going to www.iwalkforher.blogspot.com. I will be posting about my training, personal stories, pictures, thoughts and feelings as I work toward this goal. In addition to the blog, please feel free to email, call, text, facebook or comment me... I accept all methods of communication!

Thanks for all of your support. I'm incredibly lucky to have people like you in my life!

Love,
Jessica
