Buffet of Candy; Candy Buffet

So lately i've been contemplating having a candy buffet. Although its not a necessity, i do think its an awesome splurge if you can have one. And since we are also having the chocolate fountain, we can probably do a candy buffet as an even extra extra icing on the cake... what inspired me?

Check out these great photos i'm borrowing from Jackie Sorkin at Custom Candy Buffet Bars:

And a couple other images I stole from Jackie's Blog:

Aren't these buffets just gorgeous? Going through Jackie's site makes me rethink whether or not i need me a candy buffet and the way she designs them - i'm thinking, she adds the extra flair that just really makes the buffet the icing on the cake! Be sure to check out her site, her blog and her twitter! Her designs takes havin a candy buffet to a whole new level and me thinks i love her designs!

I LOVE candy buffets! We design and implement them a lot at our events and I find that you can do them at a cost that boils down to about $3.50/guest or less most of the time.

I would start by heading to a discount glassware store (TJ Maxx and Homegoods are great options depending on where you live) and purchasing anywhere from 5-11 vessels for your candy. Then visit a candy wholesaler (one who sells in bulk on the cheap) and purchase enough of your favorite candies for each guest to have between .25-.5 lbs.

You can purchase bags at http://www.papermart.com and a site I love for personalized bag labels is http://www.myownlabels.com. They add a really nice touch and you can customize the colors and the verbiage to reflect the two of you and your wedding day palette.

Good luck! I hope you end up having one! Guests love them - they're always a huge hit!

Candy bars are great~ esp. when a variety of containers of mixed shapes are used. I love seeing apothecary jars for this type display. So fun!
