CA Bridal Shower {The Games}

My BM Mich came up with some fun games that we played at the shower... from Bridal Shower Bingo, to "Who knows Amy Best" and then also a quiz where they had asked FH some questions and i tried to answer them as well.

Here are some pics from the fun :

People working hard at the "Who knows Amy best?" Quiz...

We also compared answers between FH and I...
Obviously my expression says a lot about some of his answers when Bo read them out loud LOL

Here's Lorraine snagging some more ribbons from those who said the forbidden words "Amy" "larry" "Wedding" and "Bride"

We had such a blast playin' games and people were fighting over the prizes LOL

CA Bridal Shower {The Food}

Did i ever mention that my SIL is a phenomenal Cook? And she cooks my fave? Mexican!!! So although plans to have a taquiero were squashed (which i was more than happy with), my first choice was eating my SIL's enchiladas... The only issue i had with that is how much work she would have to do to prepare. The women missed Christmas festivities with the family to stay home and prep for my shower... Talk about a sacrifice... and now you have no reason wondering why I adore her so.

So without further ado, let me make you drool with some images of food prepared by my lovely SIL...
We had fresh cut fruit and veggies with dip.
There was homemade guacomole
My BM Made fresh made pico de gallo salsa
My fave - layered bean dip...

OMG OMG OMG. I'm just now realizing I don't have images of the MAIN meal... as soon as it was presented, we all dived in, so nobody took photos... WAH!!! :'( If i locate any better images of the main meal, i'll update this post :)

Well, we had red ground beef enchiladas with spanish rice. Taquitos and mini tacos. Homemade pinto beans. Homemade chili salsa for the food. My SIL had some spanish rice made from the night before that i kept picking at (secretly) when i woke up. She "didn't like the way it came out" and REMADE a new batch. Personally, her first batch was amazing... so i think she's nutso, but she made more rice and that was delicious.

For our dessert table:
Creme puffs dipped and drizzled with chocolate.
Mini Cheesecake cupcakes
Lemon thingies...

To end things off to give you an idea of what the happy faces who were eating this divine food looked like..

My High School friends (Sunny Hills RULES) enjoying all that good food. You can see some of the red enchiladas and spanish rice... and of course the look of pure happiness on my friends' faces. Nobody beats my SIL's cooking... It's fabulous!

Stay tuned for more...

CA Bridal Shower {The Decor}

I have to give major props and kudos to my ladies in CA who threw me an awesome shower. It was colder in SoCal than i thought it'd be, but with a few warnings to friends and family to bring their sweaters, we still enjoyed a nice outdoor backyard shower... Here are a few pics of just the decor... (Thanks to my girl bo for some GREAT photos) Stay tuned for more to come! :)

The centerpieces were made out of the favors my SIL hand baked at home. Four different types of cookies... ALL DELICIOUS!

My SIL also handmade brownie pops dipped in White chocolate with blue sprinkles as favors. She's so creative and crafty...

My BM Suz brought some flowers and created mini flower arrangement at the last minute. It was definitely some mad skillz. I was impressed!

Note my Pimp Princess Martini Cup my cousin got for me. I absolutely love it and was drinking champagne out of it all day :)

The winter theme worked out perfectly. With the blue / purples and whites and all the snowflakes... it was so pretty and well done. I told my SIL she should consider doing this professionally b/c she is just so good at designing a great party... She can design, i'll coordinate! :)

Stay tuned for the next part.... FOOD!

First Fitting: Recap

So i went to my first fitting yesterday.

The dress was as gorgeous as i remembered.

I ordered a dress for 5'9 height b/c i was wearing 4 inch heels (I'm 5'5)- as instructed to do by the salon i tried the dress on at initially. However, I guess maybe its "hem to hollow" so the dress is slightly longer than expected AND I was wearing 4.5 inch heels.

We fixed it easily by pulling the one of the crinoline layers higher, which pushes out the dress - thus making it shorter.

Part of the problem was also that the dress kept falling a little. I had one of those body shapers on, and it made things a bit too slippery underneath.

So once we pulled that off, and brought the dress up a little - it looked much better. The dress fit EVERYWHERE even with room to give in various spots, but for this...

My biggest problem (of my life)... and I asked my MOH/cousin to photograph this as incentive for me to work out...

Do you see that? It's muffin top of the back. OMG... really? WHY? I can lose 20 more lbs and my arms and "return of the back fat" won't go away... It'll all just fall off my thighs and butt (yes i know, for some that would be a dream but in this case, nobody will see my thighs and butt and everybody WILL see my arms)!!!

I've been doing push ups and tons of cardio. I need good advice on how to fix this in 10 weeks. Please keep in mind - i'm the body type where I bulk up fast with weights... but i do have 5 lbs hand weights at home. I know i should probably do yoga/pilates to stretch my limbs (they are short and stubby - compared to my MIL who is several inches shorter than me but has longer arms and my cousin who is my height and one WHOLE hand longer in her arms).

I can't stop looking and thinking about how ugly that muffin top is... and its making me sad. What can i do? Any advice that has worked for you? Any of you ladies also top heavy? Where that's your problem area?

And I think i can cover it a little if i keep my hair down... like this:

HELP ME!!!!! Any constructive suggestions and comments that will help motivate me please :)
