An Angel has left us

and gone to heaven...

June 19, 2009 my sister in law's nephew was shot in the face on his 13th birthday. I posted about a fundraiser for Tony Boy and for prayers for him and his family.

Miraculously, Tonyboy woke out of the very long coma and was alive. He had lost his sense of smell and his eyesight, but he was alive. He had issues with his health and his immobility due to his new impediments, all of which effected him greatly. The past few months he's been in and out of the hospital struggling... and its been very difficult for me, a helpless bystander to watch my sister in law go through this.

The other night, Tonyboy was at home after another stint in the hospital and passed away in his sleep.

I share this with y'all b/c I am hoping you can send positive thoughts, energy, prayers and wishes to my sister in law and her family. My nephews and niece are in pain from losing their cousin and the whole situation is just really tragic.

Also, sometimes memorializing a life means letting the fragility of your own mortality hit home. Make sure you let your friends and family know just how much you love them ... b/c every day could be your last and if not yours, their last - so make sure to love like crazy and don't be afraid to show that!

Tony Silva, Rest in peace... although I've never had the honor to physically meet you, I loved you and hope that you are able to finally stop the physical struggle and can find peace.

  6. I am so sorry to hear this. I will pray for you and your sil's family. Last April we lost my 30 year old cousin unexpectedly and it hurt. It still hurts, but as the days go by and we reflect back we've got lots of good memories to savor that help ease the pain. I'll keep you guys in my prayers.
