Friday Fun Fact

The other day I was talking to a couple friends about bad hair-do's when we were young. We all have a story, right?

So my Friday Fun Fact is that when I was younger, I rocked a fro. Seriously... well, it was more of a perm on crack but it was pretty awesome LOL.

The story goes that I went into the den one day, got scissors and chopped off half of my hair. Just half of my head. So my mom, angered by what I had done and to teach me a lesson... Chopped my hair completely off. Like shorter than my older brother's hair... a boy boy cut. not pixie. Just boy. I can't bear to share that picture.

Once it grew out just enough, my moms gave me a perm. Why?? B/c my mom, like most Korean moms had some weird thing with perms. Believe it or not, at one point, my brother and father had a body wave...

So here is evidence of my Friday Fun Fact...

That was my first day of kindergarten... I was in a brown velvet dress, with my fro in tact, ronald mcdonald cheesy smile in roller skates (i loved skating)... you can see my brother skating away in the background.

Here's a close up of the magnificent hair do...

and an oldie but goodie with my cousin (who was my MOH) in the tub. My fro was more tame when it was wet...

LOL. So that's my Friday Fun Fact. What's your worst hair-do when you were younger?

  1. I was the first one in my family to have CURLY hair and nobody knew how to tame my mane! For the first 12 years of my life, I wore my hair in a ponytail with 1...2...or sometimes THREE braids haha! Then when I got older I wanted to start wearing my hair down and lo and behold there was a fro that was lying dormant just waiting to be released. My nickname in high school? Afro Puff. Enough said! :)
