Two Blogs or One?

I need your advice. You see, I love my Relentless Bride Blog and readers. I've put about 3 years into and really love how its grown. However, i'm now in a new chapter in my life that is focused on Marriage, Pregnancy and babies... while still loving weddings on the side.

The question here is... Do I keep blogging all my posts on one blog (here)? or separate them into two  separate blogs - maintaining both?

I want brides who don't want to filter through the baby posts to be able to easily find helpful posts and inspirations, but at the same time don't want to lose any of my readers by doing a blog jump...

Your thoughts? I know i can do two - but not sure how easily. And i don't know if there is a way to maintain one but still maintaining the integrity of two separate subjects.... if so, please suggest?

I'd love to know your thoughts as readers... you can leave a comment or email me at amyjean@relentlessbride.com

Your input is invaluable

  1. Hey Amy! I hope you're doing great, and I'm so happy for you and your husband! Now that I've left Weddzilla, I'm going through the same thing. Next week, I'll be launching a new blog that's not wedding-focused, but I'll keep updating Bicoastal Bride from time to time with wedding-related posts about my clients, inspiration, etc. It was a tough call, but I felt it was time move on and get back to blogging about my life and remembering that blogging should be about having fun!

  2. Hey Amy!! I'm so excited for you!! I don't know if I can offer much help. Now that I am no longer a bride I am more interested in the "next phase of life" type blogs, but I still love wedding blogs too. When I was planning our wedding I didn't mind baby posts mixed in with wedding posts, because I knew someday we would get there. It's a tough call. I will say that if you do start a new blog I will follow that one as well! Good luck to you! :)

  4. If you want your personal life to be online, I think that you should have two blogs, one bridal and one personal.
I've just ran into your bridal blog and I really like it! And I especially like the blog title :) p.s. Check out my bridal blog http://www.sourcherry.org/ Hope you will like it and add it to your Link Library :)

  5. Can you put it as two blogs within 1 website? Say everything weddings at relentlessbride.com/wedding/blog and everything else at relentlessbride.com/life/blog ? If it's 2 hard, then spin them off into 2 blogs. If you're trying to brand the relentless bride, you need to separate out non-bridal posts.

That's just my 2 cents. Take it or leave it :)

  6. I LOVE Krista's Suggestion. This is your ONE life. Sure the weddings you love, but you love your new life and beautiful family that you got married to create, too! Use your domain, make an introduction landing page, then make 2 blog tabs: wedding blog, everything blog.
