Baby Watch: Week 30

Boy, Week 29 was a bit stressful. With the midwives deciding to go ahead and diagnose me with Gestational Diabetes and trying to figure out a new diet plan and how to prick my finger four times a day, i feel like the week sped by.

The baby is STILL not flipped. I don't know if s/he is oblique or head down, but the kicks are felt near the belly button but not well over the belly button and felt along the belly horizontally. So i'm trying my forward tilts, breech inversion tilts and cold compress tricks (learned from Spinning Babies) to try to get the baby to move.

Also, i've noticed in the last two weeks that the base of my fingers are getting itchy. I don't know if this is a cold weather, wash my hands too much not enough lotion issue or if its something more serious, so i'm trying to monitor this before my next visit to the midwives. It could be something as mindless as dry skin itches or something very serious as Cholestasis. So instead of stressing, I am monitoring and hoping things turn out ok.

So this week, baby is completing his/her 29th FULL week in the belly and entering the 30th week...the size of a butternut squash
